It's been a long time...

It sure has been a while! Maybe I can actually spend some time on this thing with the weather changing.
This time of year, the porch starts to get little cold so, I guess it's the view from the famly room. Or the view of the greenhouse.

In my previous post I spoke of our trip to Italy. Here is a picture of us in Tuscany.
What a wondeful time we had.

Well....

It has been sometime since I posted. Life seems to get in the way.

Mother (The Misses) and I leave for Italia on Wednesday!! We can hardly wait. We are staying the first night in Roma, then it is off to Firenze for 4 nights. Our last day and night will be in Ostia, a close friend reccomended a B&B that is in a medevil building. We have booked a room there . It sounds grand. The B&B is called Rodrigo De Vivar. While in Firenze we will be staying one block from the Piazza della Signoria at a little B&B called Agli Uffizi Bed & Breakfast.

I will be posting while we are in Italy. Will try to put some pics in also.

Explore the Ocean Deep

Ever since I was a kid, I have been fascinated with geology, oceanography and vulcanology. I still read books, watch TV programs and visit web sites devoted to the subjects. This morning, I read an article on an NOAA/Oregon State expedition to the Mariana Arc in the South Pacific. The Mariana Arc is home to the deepest known spots and in the world. The expedition has a wonderful website with a lot of great media. The site is 2004 Submarine Ring of Fire exploration.
It is a bit bandwidth rich, but there are low res versions of most of the videos. This site is wonderful!! I am sure I will be spending some time here.

Let me know what you think.

Stay warm in this damned fog

Welcome to the Porch

Hi
Welcome to the view from the porch. From here you can see a lot. Some good, some bad. So, pull up a chair, pour a homebrew, relax and take in the View from the Porch.

Peace
